The primary research questions this project seeks to address are: what stories do Vietnamese Americans wish to tell about themselves, their families, and their community? How can oral history be used in interactive ways to bridge the generational divide in the community? The objective of this project is to collect voluntary life narratives of Vietnamese American senior citizens living in The Grove Senior Apartments (Garden Grove, Calif.). Along with these audio-recorded life stories, we will collect materials such as photographs and documents to be indexed and archived with their stories in UC Irvine Libraries Southeast Asian Archive, as part of the Vietnamese American Oral History Project.
The interviews in this collection have shared copyright between the interviewers, narrators, and the Vietnamese American Oral History Project, UC Irvine.
