Description
Scope/Content: Members of the California Alumni Council planted the first trees on the campus October 23, 1964. Holding the shovel and standing next to Chancellor Aldrich is John Mage, president of the Alumni Council. At the far right is Richard E. Erickson, executive secretary. Buildings in the background are Commons (now Gateway Study Center), left, and Library-Administration (now Langson Library).
