Summary: Oral history with An Thi Nguyen, who also goes by the pen name of Kieu My Duyen. She was born in Gia Dinh, Vietnam in 1940 and spent her childhood achieving academically and in ping pong. She began her career as a journalist at a very young age and also studied abroad in Australia through a program known as the Colombo Plan. She travelled extensively in Vietnam, reporting on the war before she left Vietnam in 1976 as a boat person. She resettled in Los Angeles and Orange Counties and continues to be active in the Vietnamese print and radio media. She also serves on many nonprofit boards and owns her business, Ana Real Estate and Funding in Garden Grove, California.
