Description: Hugh Everett was supported in graduate school by an NSF graduate research fellowship. Part of the application for that fellowship was a letter from John Wheeler. Wheeler reports that Everett is not in the very top group of students (a group that apparently included only Misner), but that he was in the second highest group of student (out of four). He offers a frank appraisal of Everett's abilities that was apparently strong enough to earn Everett the fellowship.
